 Databases
are used extensively in business for gathering and tracking information.
This information is used in viewing trends in a business, and often helps
in decisions that will increase future sales.
Databases are
important for keeping track of customer information. This kind of information
is a commodity that commands huge amounts of money as, sadly, any spammer
will attest.
We typically use Access®, SQL or MySQL databases for dynamic sites,
but there is a lot of information your company wants to keep in a more
secure location. We can assist you in designing the database that meets
your needs.
We can design and develop
a custom Microsoft Access® database
for your company to track the information important to YOU, not just
a general package that tracks a lot of things you don't need or want. We
do not create extremely complex databases, but have created those that
can be used on a laptop while on the road, allowing you to track customers,
make sure you visit other customers nearby, creating
invoices and orders, and so on.
 Access® databases are developed in the version of Access in
which they will be used due to differences between versions that can
produce unexpected results. These databases can be imported into a later
version, but this is sometimes an uncertain process that can often carry
some problems with it when custom programming code is a part of the database.
If you later need to import your database into a later version of the
product, we will be glad to assist you.
With this in mind, it's important for you to let us know which version
of Access® you will be using, and for you to understand that a database
must be carefully designed--the design process can take longer than the
actual implementation of the design, but if one takes this time and does
it right, the database will do what you want it to do and then some.
Typical databases run $300 - $500 in cost, depending on the client's
requirements.
